Terms of Use

The short version. Payotie is software you rent to run your venue. It costs $12.99 a month after a 14-day free trial, with optional add-ons at $4.99 a month each. Cancel whenever you like and you keep access until the period you have paid for ends.

Your sales, your customers and your ticket money are yours. We are the tool, not the merchant.

1. What Payotie is

Payotie is a point-of-sale application for venues: a register, printed receipts and kitchen tickets, shifts and cash-up, customers, reports, and optional add-ons such as ticketed events and a paperless menu. You reach it in a browser or through the Payotie app.

By creating an account you accept these terms. If you are agreeing on behalf of a business, you confirm you are entitled to do so.

2. Your account and your staff

Keep your sign-in details private, and give staff their own register codes and roles.
You are responsible for everything done under your account, including by your staff.
Set each role's permissions to suit the job. Some actions — deleting a shift and its sales, refunding, editing prices — permanently change your records, and are restricted to owners and admins for that reason.
Tell us promptly at support@payotie.com if you think someone has gained access they should not have.

3. Subscription, trial and billing

Every new account starts with a 14-day free trial with full access. There is no free tier afterwards.
The base plan is $12.99 per month. Add-ons are $4.99 per month each, billed as their own subscriptions from the day you add them.
Billing runs through Stripe, PayPal or Mercado Pago. Prices are shown in the currency the chosen provider bills in; Mercado Pago bills in Mexican pesos.
Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled.
Cancelling stops the next renewal and you keep access until the end of the period you have already paid for. We do not refund part-months.
If a payment fails, we may suspend access until it is settled.
We will give at least 30 days' notice in the app before any price change.
Subscriptions are bought and managed on payotie.com, not inside the mobile app.

4. Ticketed events

Ticket money never passes through Payotie. Online ticket sales go directly to your own Stripe, PayPal or Mercado Pago account, using keys you provide.

You are the seller of your tickets. You are responsible for running the event, for refunds and cancellations, and for what you tell your guests.
You set whether an event is free, paid online, or paid at the door, and whether the door takes cash only. Payotie records what was collected; it does not collect it for you.
We are not a party to any transaction between you and your guests.

5. Your data and your customers

Your catalog, sales, customers and event records belong to you. We hold them so the software can work, as described in our Privacy Policy.
When you record a customer's or guest's details, you are responsible for having the right to do so and for following the privacy and consumer laws that apply where you trade.
Tax, invoicing and receipt obligations — including electronic invoicing where your country requires it — remain yours. Payotie prints receipts; it does not file your taxes.
You can export or delete your data from within the app, or ask us for a copy.

6. Acceptable use

Do not use Payotie to break the law, to sell what you are not permitted to sell, to attack or reverse-engineer the service, to resell it as your own, or to store data you have no right to hold. We may suspend an account being used this way.

7. Hardware, printing and connectivity

Printers, tablets, phones, cash drawers and internet connections are yours to provide and maintain. The app is built to keep selling through a brief connection drop and to sync afterwards, but we cannot guarantee that every device, printer or network will behave. Test your setup before a busy service.

8. Availability

We work to keep Payotie running and to deploy changes safely, but we do not promise uninterrupted service. Maintenance, outages at our hosting or payment providers, and faults will happen. We may change or withdraw features; if we remove something significant, we will say so in the app.

9. Liability

Payotie is provided as it is. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for lost profits, lost sales, lost data, or business interruption. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid us in the three months before the claim.

Nothing here limits liability for fraud, or for anything that cannot lawfully be limited.

10. Ending the agreement

You may stop using Payotie and cancel at any time from Billing in the back office. We may suspend or end an account for a serious or repeated breach of these terms, or for non-payment. If we end your account without cause, we will refund the unused part of what you have paid. Ask us within 30 days and we will provide a copy of your data.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The date at the top changes, and we will tell you in the app if the change is significant. Continuing to use Payotie after that means you accept the update.

12. Governing law

Payotie operates from Mexico, and these terms are governed by Mexican law. Disputes will be dealt with by the competent courts of Mexico, unless the consumer law where you live gives you a right to bring a claim somewhere else.
